Oops, I Dropped My Hoop

An Introduction to the podcast and creative content added by Social Media Coordinator Allison Clark. Experiments in working less and playing more.Blurring the lines between work and play.In this episode Allison tells the story of the side picture and challenges put forward of increasing productivity and self mastery, through the imagery of hoop-dancing.I have found myself most productive when I have something to look forward too,  like a long weekend get- a- way.
It always amazed me after having my children how much stuff I could accomplish with a baby in tow.

The Pareto Principle  80/20 rule applies that time will expand to the time allowed.

The distribution shows up in several different aspects relevant to entrepreneurs and business managers. For example:

  • 80% of your profits come from 20% of your customers
  • 80% of your complaints come from 20% of your customers
  • 80% of your profits come from 20% of the time you spend
  • 80% of your sales come from 20% of your products
  • 80% of your sales are made by 20% of your sales staff[9]

Therefore, many businesses have an easy access to dramatic improvements in profitability by focusing on the most effective areas and eliminating, ignoring, automating, delegating or re-training the rest, as appropriate.”

To utilize technology to improve our work productivity is not enough if all you do is answer non- important emails or surf the Internet.Meetings for meeting sake are the most unproductive. So, by challenging oneself to open up a small amount of time after increasing productivity with the tools like Google Apps or Calendars is not enough. I  ask myself how am I going to direct myself to fill that extra time in my schedule?

At the end of the day questioning, who would I like to spend more time with?
How would I like to develop myself?

We at Damang Media must not only write about these things, we must demonstrate them through our stories.
